The Art of Alchemy

Recently I found myself on a cyber walkabout through the Yale University Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library site. The amazing graphics from the Russian Revolution of 1905 just happened to be my first discovery. Not sure I'd *ever* return to dig deeper into the other collections of high res images, I dropped everything I should have been doing to post them....(My infamous short attention span=easily distracted and on to the next "pretty picture")...but I have gone back, more than once, to see what I may have missed on previous visits. These are just a few images from the Book of Secrets: Alchemy and the European Imagination 1500-2000 collection.

That penultimate one is pretty wild! I just wonder what secrets of alchemy *that* one's meant to illustrate! ;)

Amazing stuff, thanks!
